Tiptoe through the tulips in Holland, Michigan! Come celebrate springtime splendor in this beautiful state. From millions of brilliant tulips to the old-world style Klompen Dancers to the only authentic Dutch windmill in the United States, it’s like a visit to the Old Country. Wooden shoes are made, and worn, here too! Everywhere we look gardens are overflowing with blooming tulips. Don’t miss this chance to welcome Spring during this ninety-eight year old, world-class festival.

Day 1 - Tuesday - May 4

Travel to Ohio / Dinner in an Amish Home

All aboard for a great trip to Holland for the world-renowned Tulip Time Festival. For nearly 100 years, the descendants of Michigan’s early settlers have celebrated both their favorite flower and their Dutch heritage with the Holland Tulip Time Festival. Today we travel to Ohio’s Amish Country for an included dinner in an Amish home and our overnight hotel stay. (D)

Day 2 - Wednesday - May 5
Travel to Holland / Sightseeing Tour

We continue to Holland, chock-full of exciting happenings. Millions of blooming tulips in rainbow colors welcome our arrival. We’ll meet our local guide who accompanies us for a sightseeing tour sharing stories of Holland’s history and growth. All along the way gardens are laden with blooming tulips. We’ll check into our local hotel for a two-night stay and enjoy an included dinner and show this evening. (B,D)

Day 3 - Thursday - May 6
Windmill Island Gardens / Kinderparade

A morning filled with beauty as we visit Windmill Island Gardens featuring dikes, canals, walking paths and over 200,000 blooming tulips. The centerpiece is an authentic, working Dutch windmill, “DeZwaan,” along with an Amsterdam street organ. Enjoy a boxed lunch and afterwards take our reserved grandstand seats for the Kinderparade featuring 1st-5th graders as they Klomp and whirl through the streets. Joined by floats, bands, and street scrubbers, this parade celebrates the deep roots of Dutch heritage in this area. Enjoy an included dinner and show before our day ends. (B,BL,D)

Day 4 - Friday - May 7

Dutch Village / Travel to Ohio

This morning we visit Dutch Village taking us back to the Netherlands of 150 years ago. Enjoy flowering gardens, canals and windmills, local folks dressed in costume, wooden shoe carvings, and stroepwaffel making and cheese tasting. Later today we depart for Ohio where accommodations await us for this evening. (B)

Day 6 - Saturday - May 8

Travel Home

Today we’re headed home reminiscing about the unique events and natural beauty we have experienced on our tour. (B)

Day 1 - Sunday - May 16

Travel to Ocean City, Maryland

In recent years, Ocean City has become a favorite resort for travelers with its popular Boardwalk offering food, games and shopping. All aboard for our journey to Ocean City for a two-night stay at the newly renovated Holiday Inn Oceanfront (rooms are run of the house). A free afternoon for exploring the beach and sticking our toes in the rolling surf of the Atlantic Ocean. This evening dinner is included at Harrison’s Harborwatch Restaurant overlooking the beautiful inlet. (D)

Day 2 - Monday - May 17

Assateague & Fenwick Islands / Beach Time

Good morning! We begin our day with an included breakfast. Meet our local guide and depart for our guided tour to see Assateague Island’s famous “Wild Ponies.” We’ll see some of the over 300 feral horses that inhabit the island and hear their captivating story. Have a camera ready to snap some memory-making photos! On to sleepy Fenwick Island and a visit to Discoversea Shipwreck Museum, a true gem not to be missed, and a stop at Seashell City. Return to Ocean City for a free afternoon for beach combing and activities on our own. Later we’ll gather for an included seafood and prime rib buffet dinner. (B,D)

Day 3 - Tuesday - May 18

Eco-Cruise / Travel Home 

Following an included breakfast we board the Explorer for an exciting narrated eco-cruise to learn about the Barrier Island’s eco-system and view the abundant wildlife along the bay - delightfully fun! Soon we’ll board our coach for our journey home bringing memories and stories to share with family and friends. (B)

From the moment we view the towering Ark, to the amazing animals, to the jaw-dropping exhibits inside the Ark, we’ll discover what it was like to be Noah. All aboard ... our journey west takes us to the heart of Kentucky where accommodations await for a three-night stay. 

Day 2 - Thursday - May 20
Creation Museum / Saint Mary's Basilica

Our morning begins with a visit to Covington, Kentucky, for a tour of Saint Mary’s Basilica of the Assumption modeled after the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. View the impressive stained glass windows and the tile mosaics. Travel on to the Creation Museum with its state-of-the-art exhibits allowing us to walk into biblical history. Encounter creation, corruption, castrophe, Christ, the Cross, and consummation. This museum brings the pages of the Bible to life, casting its characters and animals in dynamic form and placing them in familiar settings. (B)

Day 3 - Friday - May 21
Ark Encounter

Prepare for the experience of a lifetime. We’ll enter Noah’s world aboard the Ark, a massive true-to-life replica of Noah’s Ark. This gigantic structure, 510 feet long and 7 stories tall, is the largest timber frame structure in the world. The Ark’s 132 exhibits are designed to give solid answers to questions about the Ark, Noah and his family, his world, and the flood as recorded in the Bible. A themed restaurant and a petting zoo add to our experience. A lunch voucher is included today. (B,L)

Day 4 - Saturday - May 22
Journey Home

Today we board our coach for the trip home, bringing with us wonderful memories of Noah’s Ark, the Creation Museum, and Saint Mary’s Basilica. (B)

Uncover the secrets of how this humble little town helped end World War 11 ... it’s where the first atomic bomb was developed! Explore this fascinating secret city with a local guide. In addition, enjoy a riverboat cruise in Knoxville, and a tour of the Smoky Mountains. You’ll be glad you came along!

    Travel to Knoxville / Steamboat Dinner Cruise

    Welcome aboard our coach as we begin our Secret City tour. We travel to Knoxville, enjoy a steamboat dinner cruise on the Tennessee River, and our overnight stay. Rest well, tomorrow is an exciting day. (D)

    Day 2 - Thursday - May 27

    Oak Ridge "Secret City" Tour / Travel to Pigeon Forge 

    A short drive takes us to Oak Ridge for our Secret City tour. Oak Ridge was the home of the Manhattan Project, a top-secret World War II program by which the United States developed and deployed the world’s first atomic weapons before Nazi Germany. Join our local guide and walk in the footsteps of the employees, seeing how they and their families lived during this historic time when this project changed the world. Visit the Y-12 National Security Complex and the American Museum of Science and Energy, a Smithsonian affiliated museum showcasing Oak Ridge’s role in the creation of the Manhattan Project . See the International Friendship Bell in the Peace Pavilion, and enjoy lunch on our own in The Soup Kitchen, a local favorite. Later our travels continue to Pigeon Forge for our overnight stay. Tonight enjoy the Array Variety Show featuring talented dancers and singers presenting gospel, oldies, pop, and patriotic favorites. (B,L)

    Day 3 - Friday - May 28

    Smoky Mountain Tour / Travel Home 

    All aboard with our local step on guide for a highlights tour of the Great Smoky Mountains with their unforgettable views, mountain peaks, and scenic overlooks. Afterwards time for lunch on our own in this area before we head for home. (B)
