Experience the grandeur and natural beauty of Asheville as we embark on a tour designed to showcase the best of spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Visit the magnificent Biltmore Estate, America’s largest home, and stroll through gardens of flowers in an ever-changing wave of color. Explore the historic Basilica of Saint Lawrence, a stunning Asheville church, and visit the famed Grove Park Inn.

Day 1 - Tuesday - May 5
Travel to Asheville / Basilica of St. Lawrence 

Today’s travel takes us to Asheville, North Carolina, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Upon arrival we’ll enjoy a memorable visit to the Basilica of Saint Lawrence, a historic and stunning church, designed and built by Rafael Guastavino, the designer of the Biltmore Estate. His dome architecture is some of the most distinct in the world. Afterwards we’ll check into our hotel for a two-night stay and enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant. (D) 

Day 2 - Wednesday - May 6
Folk Art Center / Biltmore House & Gardens / Antler Hill Village

Enjoy a morning visit to the Folk Art Center, a museum of Appalachian folk arts and crafts. A burst of Springtime awaits us at magnificent Biltmore Estate House and Gardens! We’ll visit America’s largest home, the Vanderbilt’s 250-room French Renaissance Chateau, as beautiful and charming as it was centuries ago. See finely crafted interiors, opulent furnishings, and art collected from around the world. Explore the sprawling gardens, including the Italian Garden and the Walled Garden, witnessing the stunning displays of Spring’s bright flowers. A delicious lunch is included as well as a visit to the winery and Antler Hill Village. (B,L) 

Day 3 - Thursday - May 7
Visit Grove Park Inn / Travel Home 

No journey to Asheville is complete without a visit to the famed Grove Park Inn. Step back in time at this luxurious hotel with its stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, an experience in itself. Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast with time to wander through this amazing resort. Afterwards we’ll board our coach for the journey home. (B)

Day 1 - Tuesday - May 12
Travel to Chincoteague / Island Tour

Today’s travel takes us East to the Norfolk area, through the Bay Tunnel to the serene fishing village of Chincoteague, abounding with natural charm. We are now on “island time” so slow down, no hurry here. We’ll explore Chincoteague’s unique island heritage as our local guide joins us for an island tour and a visit to the regional museum filled with the history of oystering and the seafood business. Soon we’ll check in for a two-night stay at our hotel property featuring private waterfront balconies overlooking Chincoteague Channel. (We may fish here with a valid Virginia fishing license.) Dinner will be included this evening. (D) 

Day 2 - Wednesday - May 13
Boat Cruise 

This morning we board our boat for an enjoyable cruise seeing the unspoiled beauty and abundant wildlife of this island. Get close-up views of world-famous ponies, playful dolphins, and an array of shorebirds. Remainder of the day and evening are free for individual interests. (Our hotel has both an indoor and outdoor heated pool). (B) 

Day 3 - Thursday - May 14
Virginia Air and Space Center / Travel Home 

This morning on our return home we will visit the Air and Space Center in Hampton, featuring interactive aviation exhibits spanning 100 years of flight. See more than 30 historic aircraft, unique space artifacts and more. Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey back to the Shenandoah Valley relishing the memories of the unforgettable blend of relaxation, natural beauty, and exciting discoveries found on Chincoteague Island. Creation Museum / Saint Mary's Basilica

Our morning begins with a visit to Covington, Kentucky, for a tour of Saint Mary’s Basilica of the Assumption modeled after the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. View the impressive stained glass windows and the tile mosaics. Travel on to the Creation Museum with its state-of-the-art exhibits allowing us to walk into biblical history. Encounter creation, corruption, castrophe, Christ, the Cross, and consummation. This museum brings the pages of the Bible to life, casting its characters and animals in dynamic form and placing them in familiar settings. (B)

Day 3 - Friday - May 22
Ark Encounter

Prepare for the experience of a lifetime. We’ll enter Noah’s world aboard the Ark, a massive true-to-life replica of Noah’s Ark. This gigantic structure, 510 feet long and 7 stories tall, is the largest timber frame structure in the world. The Ark’s 132 exhibits are designed to give solid answers to questions about the Ark, Noah and his family, his world, and the flood as recorded in the Bible. A themed restaurant and a petting zoo add to our experience. A lunch voucher is included today. (B,L)

Day 4 - Saturday - May 23
Journey Home

Today we board our coach for the trip home, bringing with us wonderful memories of Noah’s Ark, the Creation Museum, and Saint Mary’s Basilica. (B)

    Day 1 - Wednesday - May 27
    Travel to Cape May

    All aboard our motor coach as we head north to Cape May, New Jersey. By mid-afternoon we arrive at the historic Marquis de Lafayette Hotel welcoming visitors from around the world with a seaside escape. We’ll spend two nights enjoying the sights and sounds of the beautiful New Jersey shore. Enjoy an included dinner this evening. (D) aboard our motorcoach, we’ll join our She­nandoah Tours escort as we journey north to Atlantic City. A dazzling world of excitement and sizzling gaming action are ours to enjoy.

    Day 2 - Thursday - May 28
    Cape May Trolley Tour / Physick Estate / Cape May Lighthouse / Sunset Dinner Cruise 

    Our morning tour includes both a visit to the Physick Estate and a Cape May Trolley Tour. The 1879 Physick Estate, Cape May’s famed Victorian house, is a showplace boasting rooms authentically restored to their original grandeur. Then step aboard a quaint trolley for a narrated journey through the Historic District for close up views of this seaside resort town. View the picturesque gingerbread houses, and get to know its Victorian heritage and maritime history from our local tour guide. Lunch is included at the Washington Inn, a former plantation home built in 1840, featuring fine cuisine. This afternoon join our local guide and travel to the tip of Cape May Peninsula, home of the Cape May Lighthouse built in 1859. On to Sunset Beach to see the remains of a sunken ship before returning to the hotel for relaxation and beachtime. We’ll end our day enjoying a Sunset Dinner Cruise. (B,L,D) 

    Day 3 - Friday - May 29
    Cape May Ferry / Travel Home 

    This morning we board the Cape May ferry experiencing a delightful nautical adventure with a relaxing journey on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry taking us across the Delaware Bay. Enjoy this memorable crossing seeing historic lighthouses, picturesque harbors, ocean-going vessels, seabirds, and perhaps a dolphin. We continue our travel by motor coach back to the Shenandoah Valley. A good time for all! (B)

See musical instruments, stage wear, personal clothing and accessories of “The Stars.” Afterwards enjoy free time exploring the shops, restaurants and honky-tonk clubs in this great city.     General Jackson Lunch Cruise / Grand Ole Opry

    A free morning to spend amid the beauty of the Resort hotel. Then we’ll board the grandest showboat of them all, the General Jackson, for a wonderful show and luncheon cruise on the Cumberland River.     All aboard our motor coach as we travel north to Lancaster’s Amish Country. Soon we’ll arrive at the magnificent Sight and Sound Theatre and settle back in our reserved seats. Witness the excitement and joy as the curtains open wide for their new stage production of JOSHUA! From the banks of the Jordan River to the towering walls of Jericho, Joshua is a miraculous adventure. Journey beside the people of Israel as they navigate their new found freedom in an unforgiving wilderness. Following Moses’ death, God called Joshua to be their faithful leader, and to direct the Israelite army in its conquest of the Promised Land of Canaan. This amazing story comes to life right before our eyes, an experience that will be long remembered. Afterwards, dinner is included before checking into our hotel for the evening. (D) 

    Day 2 - Saturday - May 30
    All Shook Up at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre / Home 

    Following our included breakfast we wander through the Amish countryside making a stop at Reihl’s Quilt Shop. Continue to Kitchen Kettle Village for browsing and shopping before we arrive at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre for an included lunch and show and enjoy the jukebox musical, All Shook Up, inspired by and featuring songs of Elvis Presley. We’ll be tapping our feet to classics like Heartbreak Hotel, Jailhouse Rock, and Don’t Be Cruel!. Following our show we will board our coach for the trip home. (B,L)
