To Kill a Mockingbird opens in a sleepy town in the midst of the Great Depression, where Scout and her brother, Jem, live with their widowed father. Reminiscent of a bygone era, the play immerses us in a simpler time as the children play outdoors, act out stories, and muse about their mysterious neighbor, Boo Redley. The facade of the seemingly peaceful town begins to crack when a young black man is accused of a terrible crime. A local lawyer defends this man in a trial that sends waves of violence throughout the community. This timeless production explores prejudice, compassion, and the courage to do what is right.

Today we journey to Winchester to follow in Patsy Cline's footsteps! Return to a bygone era as we visit the Patsy Cline Historic House where she lived when she was 16 years old. On our guided tour we learn how her family struggled to emerge from poverty, and how she became a singing legend in Nashville. Best known for songs such as Crazy, Walking After Midnight, and I Fall to Pieces, this hometown girl toured with Johnny Cash and performed at the Grand Ole Opry. We'll also visit the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, a regional cultural center that includes galleries filled with history and decorative arts of the valley, as well as rich gardens. New Tygart Flyer Train Excursion

Journey to Elkins, West Virginia, for a rail excursion aboard the New Tygart Flyer. The train travels along the rugged gorge of the Tygart Valley River and the unique "S" curve tunnel under Cheat Mountain on this four-hour rail adventure. Enjoy a cold-cut lunch en route to our destination, the High Falls of Cheat. This 18 foot high, 150 foot wide waterfall is located in one of the most remote and pristine settings in the region.
