Day 1 - Travel to Connecticut

Welcome aboard! We’ll journey north to Southbury, Connecticut, for our first overnight stay.

Day 2 - Calvin Coolidge Homestead/Sugarbush Farm/Quechee Gorge/Lake Moray

Meander north enjoying the stunning vistas en route to Plymouth where we’ll tour President Calvin Coolidge Homestead, virtually unchanged since the early 1900s. Nearby visit Sugarbush Cheese and Maple Farm, a scenic working farm located in the heart of Vermont offering a maple sugar house and samples of Vermont cheeses. Our next stop is Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon. On to Lake Morey Resort located on picturesque Lake Morey for our overnight stay. A special dinner is included this evening. (D)

Day 3 - Rock of Ages Quarry/Morse Sugarworks/Ben & Jerry's

Continue along Vermont’s scenic countryside stopping to take a guided tour of Rock of Ages, the world’s largest granite quarry. On to Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks to experience a Sugar on Snow Party. Afterwards we tour the factory that produces America’s favorite ice cream, Ben & Jerry’s. We spend the night at Waterbury Center, a stones throw from the village of Stowe. Enjoy an included dinner. Day 4 - Trapp Family Lodge/Vermont Country Store

It’s a beautiful day high on the mountaintop at the Trapp Family Lodge, of The Sound of Music fame. The famous Von Trapp Family were on tour when they discovered this tiny mountain hamlet. We’ll enjoy a tour and an included lunch at the Trapp Bierhall. Afterwards travel along scenic Route 100, the backroads of America, seeing picture postcard towns and white steepled churches. This route is known as the most scenic drive in New England. Arrive in the Rutland area where overnight accommodations await. (CB,L)

Day 5 - Bennington Museum & Norman Rockwell Museum

Today we’ll visit Bennington Museum, home to the largest collection of Grandma Moses paintings in the world. On to Stockbridge, one of the prettiest towns in North America, where we’ll tour the Norman Rockwell Museum. Housed here is the largest and most significant collection of original Rockwell works. Overnight in Southbury, Connecticut. (CB)

Day 6 - Travel Home

We travel home with fond memories of our Vermont trip utmost in our minds.

Day 1 - Travel to Pigeon Forge / Smoky Mountain Memories Dinner Theatre

An exciting adventure awaits us in Pigeon Forge, nestled at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains. By mid-afternoon we’ll check into our hotel for a two-night stay. This evening we head to Dolly Parton’s new dinner theater to enjoy her brand new show, Smoky Mountain Memories, celebrating her family’s mountain heritage. (D)

Day 2 - Ole Smoky Moonshine / Dollywood

Travel a short distance to Gatlinburg for a tour of Ole Smoky Moonshine, a locally owned business. Then we head to Dollywood, ranked among the world’s best theme parks! Discover a world of Smoky Mountain fun at this exciting park featuring stunning scenery, old-time crafts, friendly folks, and the best in live entertainment. Enjoy Country, Bluegrass, Gospel, Classic Rock and music from the 50's. Sit back and enjoy a ride on the Dollywood Express, an authentic steam train. Good food and handmade crafts are found throughout the park. A stop will be made at the Island, a fun complex with shops, attractions, and retaurants. Afterwards return to our hotel for a restful evening. (CB)

Day 3 - Titanic Museum / Home

This morning we participate in a historic event during our visit to the fabulous Titantic Museum filled with artifacts, survivors’ stories, and personal items from this fateful cruise. Soon we’ll board the coach for the trip home. (CB)

Day 1 - Arrive in South Dakota

This morning we depart for Washington Dulles airport and our flight to Rapid City, South Dakota. We’ll meet our Tour Manager in the hotel lobby at 6:00 PM for dining suggestions.

Day 2 - Black Hills Touring & Custer State Park Jeep Ride

We begin the day with an exciting open-air jeep ride through Custer State Park. Enjoy the interesting sights and colorful commentary of our driver/guides on our ride through the park in search of the country’s largest herd of American bison. Next we’ll visit the colossal Crazy Horse Memorial, the world’s largest statue. Following an afternoon break at our hotel, we’ll experience the greatness of Mount Rushmore National Memorial, with sightseeing, dinner, and the inspiring lighting ceremony. (B,D)

Day 3 - Deadwood and Devils Tower

The town of Deadwood preserves the history and legends of the Wild West from its beginnings as a mining town. Our tour of the town takes us along the same streets walked by Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. We’ll also visit Boot Hill, the final resting place of some of Deadwood’s famous citizens. Crossing Wyoming today we come to Devils Tower National Monument. Towering 1,267 feet above Belle Fourche River, this looming monolith served as the backdrop for the classic Steven Spielberg film Close Encounters of the Third Kind. (B,D)

Day 4 - Buffalo Bill Territory

We travel across the expansive Bighorn Mountains, where cowboys still graze their flocks of sheep and herds of cattle as in days of the Old West. As legendary as the sweeping plains and towering mountains of the Old West were, so were the grand personalities that were drawn to the frontier. At the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, we’ll encounter some of theses historic figures, including Bill himself, the renowned sharpshooter Annie Oakley, and Indian Chief Sitting Bull before we arrive in Yellowstone National Park, our home for the next two nights. Day 5 - Full Day in Yellowstone National Park

Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Yellowstone, the world’s first national park, featuring outstanding natural spectacles, including renowned geysers and thermal basins. Our tour begins with the awesome 1,200-foot-deep Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, including views from Inspiration and Lookout Points. Next we’ll travel through Dunraven Pass and Tower Junction to the terraced formations of Mammoth Hot Springs. Finally, we’ll explore Norris Geyser Basin, filled with an incredible variety of steam vents, mud pots, geysers and hot springs, before returning to our park lodge for dinner this evening. (B,D)

Day 6 - Old Faithful and Grand Teton National Park

Continuing our tour of Yellowstone National Park, we’ll head for storied Old Faithful Geyser, named for its regular eruptions about every 80 to 90 minutes for some 150 years. Next, traveling along Rockefeller Memorial Parkway into magnificent Grand Teton National Park, we’ll drive alongside lovely Jackson and Jenny Lakes, visit the Chapel of the Transfiguration, and enjoy splendid views of the rugged, towering Tetons along the way. Tonight the dinner bell will call us to the Bar J Chuckwagon for an evening of entertainment and authentic cowboy chow. (B,D)

Day 7 - Scenic Float Trip and Jackson Hole

The spectacular vistas of the Grand Teton Mountains offer a thrilling view from the white waters of the Snake River during a delightful floating trip. With its wooden boardwalks and unique antler-horn arches, downtown Jackson Hole brings the Old West to life. We’ll catch local cowpokes in action at the Jackson Hole Rodeo. (B)

Day 8 - Salt Lake City

Step back in time as we explore Salt Lake City’s historic Temple Square and walk in the footsteps of the Mormon settlers who founded this city more than 150 years ago. Just as remarkable is the Great Salt Lake, the region’s renowned natural landmark, with its deep, turquoise waters ringed by glistening white sand beaches. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner hosted by our Tour Manager. (B,D)

Day 9 - Travel Home

We transfer to the Salt Lake City Airport for our return flight to Washington and our transfer home. (B)

Day 1 - Arrive in Anchorage

This morning we’ll travel to Washington, DC, for our flight to Anchorage where we spend tonight.

Day 2 - McKinley Explorer Rail to Denali National Park

Roll through Alaska’s scenic interior to Denali National Park aboard the McKinley Explorer, a private full domed rail car, for luxury sightseeing. We arrive in Denali and check into our lodge for a two-night stay.

Day 3 - Denali National Park

Embark on a Tundra Wilderness Tour for the most comprehensive wildlife viewing and Mt. McKinley viewpoints. Watch for caribou trotting across the tundra and grizzlies foraging for berries. Our guide will share natural history and native culture insights along the way.

Day 4 - Explorer Coach to Fairbanks

Board our coach for Fairbanks, Alaska’s Golden Heart City, and take a step back in time to pan for gold at historic Gold Dredge 8. Explore Fairbanks until the sun sets, which, in these parts, might not be ‘til midnight. Overnight accommodations in Fairbanks.

Day 5 - Dawson City

Our journey continues as we board a short flight en route to colorful Dawson City. Upon arrival in this gold rush boomtown, we won’t believe our eyes: dirt roads, wooden boardwalks, and saloons with swinging doors. We spend two nights in this unique town.

Day 6 - Dawson City

Today enjoy optional excursions and a nostalgic Yukon River paddlewheeler cruise aboard the Klondike Spirit.

Day 7 - Whitehorse

Follow the route of Klondike gold stampeders in style to Whitehorse, with an included lunch stop in historic Minto.

Day 8 - Whitehorse to Skagway

Continue along the Klondike Trail by coach to Fraser, then board the historic White Pass train to Skagway for overnight.

Day 9 - Skagway

Embark our ship, the Nieuw Amsterdam, for our cruise along Alaska’s Inside Passage.

Day 10 - Glacier Bay National Park Cruising

Day 11 - Ketchikan
