Arrive in Denver

We transfer to the airport for our flight to Denver, Colorado, to begin our Western frontier adventure. Meet our Tour Manager for a welcome dinner. (D)

Day 2 - Thursday - July 8

Travel  to South Dakota & Mount Rushmore

Travel through Wyoming into South Dakota. Arrive at the epic Mount Rushmore National Memorial where four of the nation’s noted Presidents are immortalized. See the monument, enjoy dinner and experience the largest statue museum in the world. (B, D)

Day 3 - Friday - July 9

Black Hills Touring & Custer State Park Jeep Ride

Begin the day with an exciting open-air Jeep ride through Custer State Park in search of the country’s largest herd of American bison. Visit the colossal Crazy Horse Memorial, which will be 563 feet high and 641 feet long when completed! (B)

Day 4 - Saturday - July 10

Deadwood Touring & Devils Tower

Our The town of Deadwood was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1967 and preserves the history and legends of the Wild West from its beginnings as a mining town. A brief tour of the town takes you along the same streets walked by Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane.  Also visit Boot Hill, the final resting place of some of Deadwood’s

famous citizens. Crossing into Wyoming today, come to Devils Tower National Monument. Towering 1,267 feet above Belle Fourche River, this looming monolith served as the backdrop for the classic Steven Spielberg film Close Encounters of the Third Kind (B, D)

Day 5 - Sunday - July 11

Cody & Buffalo Bill Territory

Today travel across the expansive Bighorn Mountains to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Encounter some of these historic figures, including Bill himself, the renowned sharpshooter Annie Oakley, and Indian Chief Sitting Bull, before arriving in Yellowstone National Park. (B, D)

Day 6 - Monday - July 12

Full Day in Yellowstone National Park

A full day of sightseeing in Yellowstone, the nation’s first national park, features outstanding natural spectacles including renowned geysers and thermal basins. Our tour begins with the awesome 1,200-foot-deep Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, including views from Inspiration and Lookout Points. Also see Norris Geyser Basin, filled with an incredible variety of steam vents, mud pots, geysers, and hot springs. Then, head for storied Old Faithful geyser, named for its regular eruptions about every 80 to 90 minutes for some 150 years, before returning to our park lodge. (B)

Day 7 - Tuesday - July 13

Grand Teton National Park

This morning, travel along Rockefeller Memorial Parkway into magnificent Grand Teton National Park, drive alongside lovely Jackson and Jenny Lakes, visit the Chapel of the Transfiguration, while, of course enjoying splendid views of the rugged, towering Tetons along the way. Tonight the dinner bell will call you to the Bar T 5 Covered Wagon Cookout and Show for an evening of song, stories, entertainment and authentic cowboy chow. (B, D)

Day 8 - Wednesday - July 14

Scenic Float Trip & Jackson Hole

The spectacular vistas of the Grand Teton mountains offer a thrilling view from the white waters of the Snake River during a delightful floating trip. With its wooden board­ walks and unique antler-horn arches, downtown Jackson Hole brings the Old West to life. During the summer, catch local cowpokes in action at the Jackson Hole Rodeo or

enjoy a show at the Jackson Hole Playhouse, subject to the Rodeo’s schedule. (B)

Salt Lake City

Today explore Salt Lake City’s historic Temple Square and walk in the footsteps of the Mormon settlers. Tonight, enjoy an included farewell dinner. (B,D)

Day 1 - Sunday - July 25
Arrive in Spokane, Washington

Spokane is Washington’s second largest city but retains a “small town” ambience. The downtown area is especially attractive with Riverfront Park and Spokane Falls. Meet your Tour Manager at 6:00 p.m. in the lobby for dining suggestions.

Day 2 - Monday - July 26
Wallace, Idaho and Kalispell, Montana

After Wallace, Idaho, is an old mining town and is one of the few places where the entire town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has one of the best collections of turn-of-the-century architecture in the Pacific Northwest. There are several interesting museums that offer a glimpse into the fascinating history of the area.

Continue into Montana and travel along the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, Flathead Lake. More than 28 miles long, it occupies a trough dredged out by a great glacier about 12,000 years ago.  Meals: B, D

Day 3 - Tuesday - July 27
Glacier National Park

This Welcome to Glacier National Park! Founded in 1910, the park is a land of mountain ranges carved by prehistoric ice rivers. The vistas seen from Going-to-the-Sun Road, named one of the top 100 scenic drives, are breathtaking and a photographer’s paradise. The best way to travel is via the Red Buses whose drivers are known as “jammers.”

The antique red buses are both a symbol of the park and a reminder of a time when adventurous travel was done with style. The name “jammer” is carried over from the days when the buses had standard transmissions and the drivers could be heard “jamming” the gears as they drove up and down the rugged mountainous highway. Day 4 - Wednesday - July 28
Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park

Travel north into Canada to Waterton Lakes National Park and embark on a boat cruise of Upper Waterton Lake, with its deep scenic bays, sheer vertical mountains and beautiful wilderness surroundings. In the afternoon, enjoy an included lunch at the Lakeside Chophouse and see the Prince of Wales Hotel, one of the most photographed hotels in the world.  Meals: B, L

Day 5 - Thursday - July 29

Great Falls Touring

Depart for Great Falls today. This area held great significance for the Lewis & Clark Expedition. You visit the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center to learn about the explorers who were forced to spend nearly a month around the falls in June 1805. Much of the Missouri River in this area is as it was when Lewis and Clark first viewed it over 200

years ago. Then visit the C. M. Russell Museum, a gifted artist who masterfully captured art and soul of the American West.  Meals: B, D

Day 6 - Friday - July 30

The Gates of the Mountain Cruise

Follow in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark on a journey to the Gates of the Mountains. This historical boat trip along the Missouri River traverses spectacular cliffs towering 1,200 feet on either side.  Meal: B

Day 7 - Saturday - July 31

Miracle of America Museum and Flathead Lake Cruise

Take the drive to Polson this morning for a visit to the Miracle of America Museum. The collection of “Americana” artifacts is in the thousands and is scattered throughout an handful of buildings.  Continue up the west side of the lake to the town of Lakeside to climb aboard your vessel for a narrated cruise on scenic Flathead Lake. The largest natural fresh water lake west of the Great Lakes, Flathead Lake’s breathtaking splendor is sure to please. Return to Missoula for a farewell dinner hosted by your Tour Manager.  Meals: B, D

Day 1 - Arrive in Anchorage

This morning we’ll travel to Washington, DC, for our flight to Anchorage where we spend tonight.

Day 2 - McKinley Explorer Rail to Denali National Park

Roll through Alaska’s scenic interior to Denali National Park aboard the McKinley Explorer, a private full domed rail car, for luxury sightseeing. We arrive in Denali and check into our lodge for a two-night stay.

Day 3 - Denali National Park - Tundra Wilderness Tour

Embark on a Tundra Wilderness Tour for the most comprehensive wildlife viewing and Mt. McKinley viewpoints. Watch for caribou trotting across the tundra and grizzlies foraging for berries. Our guide will share natural history and native culture insights along the way.

Day 4 - Denali to Fairbanks - Riverboat Discovery

Board our coach for Fairbanks, Alaska’s Golden Heart City, and take a step back in time to pan for gold at historic Gold Dredge 8. Enjoy a luncheon cruise on a Riverboat Discovery. Overnight accommodations in Fairbanks.

Day 5 - Dawson City

Our journey continues as we board a short flight en route to colorful Dawson City. Upon arrival in this gold rush boomtown, we won’t believe our eyes: dirt roads, wooden boardwalks, and saloons with swinging doors. We spend two nights in this unique town.

Day 6 - Dawson City - Klondike Gold Tour

Enjoy a Klondike Gold Tour exploring Canada’s Yukon Territory to explore the landscapes and historic sites that defined the 1890s Gold Rush. 

Day 7 - Dawson to Whitehorse

A short flight takes us to Whitehorse where we board our coach to Skagway and check into our lodge for a two-night stay.

Day 8 - Skagway - White Pass & Yukon Railroad

Ride in vintage railcars along the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush route. It passes Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point, and Dead Horse Gulch.

Day 9 - Skagway

Embark our ship, the ms Koningsdam, for our cruise along Alaska’s Inside Passage.

Day 10 - Glacier Bay National Park Cruising

Day 11 - Ketchikan

Chester, England via the Lake District

Today’s adventure begins with the motorcoach journey through the rolling hills of the Scottish countryside en-route to England. Enjoy the scenic wonders of northern England with a visit to the Lake District.  Wander through the picture-postcard village of Grasmere with the local guide and see the historical sites associated with William Woodsworth. The journey continues as you travel through the British countryside arriving in Chester this evening. Meal: B

Day 5 - Monday - September 20

Chester

A walking tour of this picturesque city with its Tudor-style buildings, ancient ruins and a complete city wall starts your day. Discover the history of the city’s former occupations by the Romans, Vikings, Danes, Saxons, Scots and Normans, while viewing the medieval half- timbered houses (some dating back to the 13th century), the Eastgate Clock (the 2nd most photographed clock in the UK, behind Big Ben), the Chester Cathedral and the ‘Rows’ – the highlight of the city center. The remainder of the day and evening is at your leisure to experience the charms of Chester. Meal: B

Day 6 - Tuesday - September 21

Stratford-upon-Avon - Cotswolds - Cardiff, Wales

Departing Chester, continue to another capital city, Cardiff, Wales. Enroute, a stop is made in the traditional English town of Stratford-upon- Avon with its typical oak-beamed, gable-roofed houses. Visit the most famous house in town, the birthplace and childhood home of the Bard himself, William Shakespeare. You’ll also see the school where

he received his education, and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, erected in his memory. Continuing on, experience the beauty of the Cotswolds- rolling hills (“wolds”), river valleys, and sleepy villages where houses made from the Cotswold Stone and cozy shops line the meandering streets. Experience the British tradition of ‘tea and scones’ at a local village in the Cotswolds before arriving in Cardiff early this evening for an included dinner. Meals: B, D

Day 7 - Wednesday - September 22

Cardiff

The day begins with a guided tour of Cardiff, the largest city in Wales. During the panoramic portion, your local guide will point out architectural sites that range from historic to modern, as well as provide history of the city. On the included visit to Cardiff Castle, whose walls conceal 2,000 years of history, you’ll discover stories from the times of the Romans, Normans, Vikings, Victorian Era and even WWII. After the excursion, return to the hotel where the rest of the day is free of planned activities for your independent exploration of this capital city. Meal: B

Day 8 - Thursday - September 23

Cardiff - Waterford, Ireland

A late morning departure from the hotel takes you to the port for embarkation of the ferry and the journey across the Irish Sea to Rosslare, Ireland. Upon arrival, continue by coach to the Waterford area for two nights’ accommodation. Meal: B

Day 9 - Friday - September 24

Waterford / Blarney

Today’s excursion discovers the sites of Waterford and Blarney. On a visit to the House of Waterford Crystal, witness the master craftsmen at work as you watch the process of transforming a ball of red-hot molten crystal into an elegantly crafted piece of art. Continue on to Blarney where there is time for lunch on your own before visiting the famed Castle known the world over as home to the “Stone of Eloquence” or the Blarney Stone. Legend has it, if you climb to the top of the castle and kiss the stone, you will never be lost for words and will receive the “gift of gab”. The grounds of the castle are a curious place of ancient trees and stones, by legend a garden of Druid origin.  The park has an aura of magic and mystique with Wishing Steps, Witch’s Kitchen, Druid’s Cave and many other delights, telling a story of centuries past. Return to Waterford for an included dinner. Meals: B, D

Day 10 - Saturday - September 25

Waterford - Dublin

Leaving Waterford, travel to Dublin, the last capital city to be experienced on your journey through the British Isles. On the guided panoramic tour of this historic city, travel along O’Connell Street with its monument to Daniel O’Connell and other figures from Irish History.  See the General Post Office, one of Ireland’s most famous buildings, that was the rebel headquarters in the 1916 Easter Rising. Cross over the River Liffey which flows through the center of the city and catch a glimpse of the Temple Bar area. Visit Trinity College and see the Book of Kells, the famous 8th-century hand-illuminated gospel manuscript.  See Grafton Street, one of the main pedestrian-zoned shopping streets and drive through Georgian Dublin, with the beautiful 18th- century houses and squares. Pass the National Museum, Parliament Building and St. Stephen’s Green before returning to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure. A special treat is in store tonight with an included dinner and evening entertainment. Music, song, and traditional Irish dancers take the stage during a show you’re sure to enjoy! Meals: B, D

Today you will travel past the rambling hills of the San Joaquin Valley. Begin your ascent into the Sierra Nevada Mountains for your next destination, the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad. Climb aboard an official logger steam train for a narrated ride through the stunning landscape where lumberjacks once felled these mighty trees. Enjoy an included lunch and take in the railroad’s stunning landscape. Later, visit Mariposa Grove, home to the Giant Sequoia trees which have stood here for up to 3,000 years. Day 2 - Monday - September 27

Salt Lake City and Dead Horse State Park

Enjoy a panoramic tour of Salt Lake City, founded by Mormon settlers more than 150 years ago. Then, venture into Dead Horse Point State Park with its amazing views of the Colorado River as it snakes it is way through massive sandstone walls and colorful canyons. Day 3 - Tuesday - September 28

Arches National Park and Colorado River Float Trip

Arches National Park contains the largest concentration of stone arches in the world. A local guide shows you the massive sandstone arches and describes the culture of those that have occupied the region. Enjoy lunch before boarding a raft for a float trip on the Colorado River where your oarsman relates tales of the Fisher Towers and Professor Valley. Meals: B, L

Monument Valley Tour

Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell Cruise

Later, you will see the massive Glen Canyon Dam and take a cruise on sky-blue Lake Powell through Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Enjoy dinner tonight in the resort’s famed Rainbow Room. Day 6 - Friday - October 1

Discover the Grand Canyon's North Rim

Depart Page and visit the impressive Colorado River Gorge at Navajo Bridge and take a scenic drive along Vermillion Cliffs National Monument. Then, continue to experience the wonders of the Grand Canyon’s North Rim. From the North Rim Lodge, enjoy incomparable views of this gaping chasm, about one mile deep and ten miles across. Those who have visited the heavily-traveled South Rim will be surprised to see that the views and environment are distinctively different here. Day 7 - Saturday - October 2

Bryce Canyon National Park

Begin the day with a drive to the famed “Pink Cliffs” of Bryce Canyon National Park. Follow the Rim Drive to view the vividly-colored, fantastic rock formations approximating castles, temples and even whole cities sculptured in stone! Zion National Park and Las Vegas

Begin today in Zion National Park, where the Virgin River has cut a dramatic rugged gorge through multi-hued sandstone, shale and limestone. Your day begins with a visit to the iconic Citadel of Saladin and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. Continue on to Khan El Khalili market and stroll along El Moez street as you wander through the world’s oldest marketplace, dating back as far as 1382. After an included lunch at a local restaurant, return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure.

Cairo / Grand Egyptian Museum / The Great Pyramids of Giza

After breakfast, tour the Grand Egyptian Museum. See the spectacular treasures of King Tutankhamen and the extensive collection of Egyptian artifacts covering 5,000 years of history. Following an included lunch, depart for the Giza Plateau to witness the last remaining “wonder” of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Great Pyramids of Giza are perhaps the most famous and discussed structure in history. Marvel at the size and majesty of the Great Sphinx - a symbol that has represented the essence of Egypt for more than 4,500 years. This evening immerse yourself in local culture with a visit to the home of an Egyptian family, who will host an authentic dining experience. Day 5 - Monday - November 1

Cairo / Luxor / Embark on Jaz Regent Riverboat

Depart for the Cairo airport for an early morning flight to Luxor, previously known as Thebes, and founded in 1400 BC. Upon arrival, exploration begins with a visit to the temples. Two grandiose seated statues greet you upon entering the Luxor Temple Complex, one of the best-preserved ancient sites in the world. Filled with courtyards, statues, and a 32-column Hypostyle Hall, the grounds are sure to amaze. In comparison, the Karnak Temple Complex is much larger and is the largest religious building ever constructed.

Decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and a large Hypostyle Hall with carved columns will leave you in awe. Reboard the coach for the short journey to the embarkation point of your ship. Enjoy a relaxing lunch onboard and time to acquaint yourself with the amenities of the vessel. This afternoon, join your guide for a visit to the Papyrus Institute to learn about this important product, how it’s made, and its use throughout history. Meals: B, L, D

Day 6 - Tuesday - November 2

Luxor / Edfu

Begin the day with an optional sunrise hot air balloon ride over the amazing sites of the area. After breakfast, today’s excursion visits the stunning tombs at the Valley of the Kings where, for a period of nearly 500 years, tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. The walls of the tombs are covered with

hieroglyphic writing including text from the Book of the Dead. You’ll visit King Tut’s tomb, and the Queen Hatshepsut Temple which took fifteen years to complete, between the 7th and the 22nd years of her reign. A photo stop is made by the giant Colossi of Memnon before reboarding the ship and departing Luxor. This afternoon, sail to Edfu located on the west bank of the Nile River, some sixty miles south of Luxor. Its ancient name was Wetjeset-Hrw, or “The Place Where Horus is Extolled”. Meals: B, L, D

Day 7 - Wednesday - November 3

Edfu / Kom Ombo

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu which is dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god. Not only is this the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt, but it is the second largest after Karnak. In the afternoon, sail to Kom Ombo, a pleasant agricultural town and home to many Nubians. Upon arrival, visit the unusual Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to both Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. After re-embarking, the ship sails for Aswan. Relax on the Sun Deck as you cruise along the Nile. Meals: B, L, D

Day 8 - Thursday - November 4

Aswan / Temple of Philae / Scenic Felucca Ride

After breakfast, enjoy a tour to the lovely Temple of Philae, one of the last outposts of Egyptian religion, surviving two centuries after the Roman Empire converted to Christianity. This afternoon, enjoy a scenic felucca ride on the Nile. A felucca is a traditional sailboat, relying solely on wind-power, used to transport people and goods on the river. What a great way to enjoy some of the stunning views of the Nile, just as Cleopatra did so many centuries ago! Meals: B, L, D

Day 9 - Friday - November 5

Aswan / Abu Simbel / Cairo

This morning, it’s time to disembark the vessel and encounter one final spectacular sight. Transfer to the Aswan airport for the short flight to Abu Simbel for a visit of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the “Nubian Monuments”. Built by one of Egypt’s greatest Pharaoh’s, Ramses II, the larger temple celebrates himself, and the smaller honors his favorite wife, Queen Nefertari. A light lunch is provided at the airport before re-boarding the flight to Cairo. This evening, your Tour Manager hosts a farewell dinner at the hotel. Meals: B, L, D

Travel Home

Day 2 - Wednesday - November 4

Honolulu Touring - USS Arizona Memorial / Punchbowl Crater / National Cemetery of the Pacific

Today enjoy a Pearl Harbor & Honolulu City Tour.   Head first to Pearl Harbor to take a Navy launch out to the USS Arizona Memorial to pay tribute to the fallen heroes who lost their lives on December 7, 1941.   Explore the visitor center, view a film and the exhibits before heading off to see the sights of Honolulu.   Set in a real dormant volcano, visit Punchbowl Crater to take a drive through the National Cemetery of the Pacific.   Later see the State Capitol, the Governor’s Mansion, China Town and  King Kamehameha’s statue before returning to our hotel.  (B,D)

Honolulu at Leisure

Enjoy a day at leisure in paradise to soak up some sun on the beach or at the pool, do some shopping, play a round of golf or join an optional Oahu Circle Island Tour. (B)

Day 4 - Friday - November 6

Fly to Hilo (Big Island) / Island Tour - Volcanoes National Park / Punaluu Black Sand Volcanic Beach

Fly to Hilo on the Island of Hawaii (the Big Island).   Ascend the rugged countryside to Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.   Visit Volcanoes National Park Visitor Center to learn all about the geology and history of the volcano.   Then depart to see the unique Punaluu Black Sand Volcanic Beach.   Later journey to the Kona Coast area and check into our resort for a 2-night stay.   After settling in, travel to the historic fishing village of Kailua Kona, referred to by the locals as Kona or Kona town.   Enjoy dinner in Kona at a popular local restaurant including a choice of a two special local brews - a draft from the Kona Brewing Company or an authentic cup of Kona Coffee. Big Island at Leisure

Fly to Maui

This morning fly to Maui, known as the “Valley Isle."  Visit the Maui Tropical Plantation.  The Tropical Express Tour offers visitors a 40 minute overview or Hawaii's famous fruits and plants.  Later explore Whalers Village in Kaanapali.   Then check into our Maui resort for a two-night stay.   Enjoy this island paradise with some leisure time. Day 7 - Monday - November 8

Maui at Leisure / Luau

Relax today in the sun of Maui pool side, maybe visit the spa, spend the day shopping, or perhaps join an Optional Whale Watching Cruise Tour.  This evening join fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner and say Aloha to the Islands as we enjoy a Hawaiian Luau, a fun filled cultural event featuring traditional food, dancing and music. Days 8 & 9 - Wednesday & Thursday - November 9 & 10

Iao Needle / Fly Home

Visit stunning Iao Needle Valley with its waterfalls and lush tropical foliage.  The rock needle rises 2,000' from the valley floor.   Later, fly home filled with wonderful memories of Hawaii.  (We will arrive home on November 10, 2027)
