Come to the Great Smoky Mountains...a perfect getaway! Discover a world of Smoky Mountain Fun as we visit Dollywood, created by singer/songwriter/entertainer, Dolly Parton. Filled with country charm and good, clean entertainment for adults and children alike, it’s surrounded by the rustic beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Live musical shows fill our evenings with today's top hits, gospel music and patriotic tunes. And explore the mystery and drama of the maiden voyage of Titanic, the newest attraction in Pigeon Forge. A treasure chest of memories will be ours on this summer excursion.
Day 1 * Thursday * July 12
Enjoy a leisurely drive south to Pigeon Forge making rest stops and a lunch stop enroute. By mid afternoon we arrive at our hotel and check in for a two night stay. We’re in for a good time tonight at the Smith Family Dinner and Show taking us on a musical journey featuring oldies, bluegrass, and heartfelt gospel music. (D)
Day 2 * Friday * July 13
Discover a world of Smoky Mountain Fun at Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s exciting amusement park featuring stunning scenery, pleasurable performances, old-time crafts, and friendly folks. Enjoy the shows and watch local artisans demonstrate their crafts. Ride the Dollywood Express, an authentic steam train, on a five-mile ride. This evening we're in for a special treat at the Country Tonite Show, a variety of dynamic singing and dancing, side-splitting comedy, powerful gospel and American patriotism. This excellent show gets rave reviews and is repeatedly voted the Best Show in the Smokies. Afterwards return to our hotel for a restful evening. (CB)
Day 3 * Saturday * July 14
This morning we’ll visit the fascinating Titanic Museum. This new attraction provides a gateway to 1912, where First Class Maids and a variety of Officers and crew members bring the stories of the fabled ship and her intriguing passengers to life by retelling their stories in vivid, dramatic detail. The priceless artifacts throughout the museum shed additional light on the lives of those passengers and crew members as we see the actual belongings of those on board and artifacts that sailed on Titanic’s maiden voyage. Later this afternoon we’ll board our coach for the return trip home, bringing with us Smoky Mountain Memories to last a lifetime. (CB)
