Take a trip down memory lane to Victorian Cape May, one of the most popular seaside resorts in America, in the height of the holiday season. See houses draped in swags of evergreens and adorned with lights and bows. Visit the Physick Estate decorated in the Victorian opulence of Christmas 1890. Enjoy the Carriage Gallery Exhibit and attend a memorable performance of Dickens’ Christmas classic, Scrooge. And, of course, the highlight is the Christmas Candlelight House tour. Relive holiday traditions in “Victorian fashion” on this weekend excursion.
 

Day 1 - Travel to Cape May/Scrooge @ Elaine’s Theatre

Christmas in the Cape is charming and magical! All aboard our coach for the journey north to Cape May. Upon arrival we’ll check into The Grand Hotel, our host for a two-night stay. Spend a memorable evening at Elaine’s Dinner Theatre enjoying Dickens’ Christmas story, Scrooge. This delightful production, with its creative stage sets and special effects, is guaranteed to put us in the Christmas spirit. (D)

Day 2 - Physick Estate/Trolley TourCandlelight Tour

Enjoy a morning visit to the Physick Estate where we enter the world of the late 19th century Victorian period. This home has been restored to its original grandeur and is the only Victorian house museum in Cape May. Decorated in Christmas finery, the house beckons us to return to a bygone era and experience the holiday traditions of 1890. Afterwards board an old-time trolley for a narrated tour of the historic east and west sides of Victorian Cape May. See homes draped in swags of evergreens and decorated with lights and bows. Stop at the Carriage House Gallery for their special exhibit and enjoy shopping time at Washington Street Mall. Dinner will be enjoyed at the Grand Hotel. A special evening awaits as we tour homes, inns, hotels and churches specially decorated for the holidays. Enjoy Christmas trees, garlands, caroling, and good old-fashioned cheer during this Candlelight House Tour. Warm beverages and home baked goodies are included. (B,D)

Day 3 - Travel Home

Following our included breakfast we’ll board our coach for the trip home. Arrive back in the valley with fond memories of our Cape May Victorian Christmas. (B)

Day 1 - Odyssey Cruise/Mt. Vernon Candlelight Tour

Take time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life to make holidays memories in our nation’s capital, Washington, DC. Upon arrival we will board the Odyssey for a Jingle Bells Lunch Cruise. Enjoy live music, dining, and exceptional views of the city from this glass enclosed boat. We’ll check into the Hampton Inn and freshen up before traveling to Mount Vernon for the Candlelight Holiday Tour. See the mansion decorated with natural greenery, and join “Mrs. Washington” for this enchanting evening which includes fireside caroling and hot cider and ginger cookies. (L)

Day 2 - U.S. Botanical Gardens/A Christmas Carol/Home

Following our included continental breakfast we visit the United States Botanical Gardens to see the holiday exhibits. Lunch will be included before the afternoon performance of A Christmas Carol at the historic Ford’s Theatre. For more than 30 years, this has been a holiday tradition in the city. Join the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future as they lead miserable Ebenezer Scrooge on a journey of transformation and redemption. This music filled production captures the magic and joy of Dicken’s yuletide classic. Following the performance we will again board our coach for the trip home. (CB,L)

Day 1 - Arrive in Asheville/Candlelight Tour of the Biltmore Estate

Journey south to Asheville, North Carolina, and experience the finest of the holiday season! Accommodations await us in Asheville. As dusk settles over the city we’re off to the magnificent Biltmore Estate for a fine holiday dinner and their annual Christmas Candlelight Tour. Enter the grounds where over 500 luminaries cast a warm glow. The best is yet to come...a candlelight tour of this incredible estate, the 225-room French Renaissance chalet, home of George Vanderbilt. Crackling fires, glittering trees, and hundreds of candles glow throughout rooms that are richly decorated for an old-fashioned Victorian Christmas. This is an experience we’ll long remember! (D)

Day 2 - Grove Park Inn/Gingerbread Houses/Home

This morning we return to the Biltmore Estate to tour the winery and visit Antler Hill Village, a dining and shopping complex. Afterwards, we’re off to the fabulous Grove Park Inn to see the amazing display of gingerbread houses. People from across the country create these culinary sugar-and-spice masterpieces for competition in this annual event. Enjoy beautiful decorations and warm by the giant fireplaces in the grand lobby. What a wonderful way to be swept up in the holiday spirit. Enjoy a holiday lunch buffet before boarding our coach for the trip home, bringing with us cherished memories of this special holiday tour. (B,L)
