Day 1 * Wednesday * July 25
We’re in for a good time and some spectacular scenery  as we depart for  Wild, Wonderful, West Virginia.  Mountains, lakes, forests and white-capped rivers provide the perfect backdrop for our travels.  Our first stop is the Blue Smoke Salsa Factory.  Here we’ll see the canning process and sample salsa and chips. On to  the New River Gorge Bridge, the longest steel arch bridge in the world and also the highest span east of the Mississippi.  Soon we’ll arrive in Beckley for our overnight stay at the Country Inn & Suites.  Dinner will be included.  Spend an evening under the stars at Theatre West Virginia’s outdoor drama, Honey in the Rock, a romping, rollicking, vibrant, historical performance filled with drama, intrigue, music and romance. Day 2 * Thursday * July 26
Following breakfast we’ll get a realistic look at coal mining as it was at the turn of the century at Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine.  Here, we’ll travel 1500 feet underground in authentic mining cars and tour a historic coal camp with veteran miners as guides. Before departing for home we’ll visit  Tamarack showcasing all West Virginia handmade items.  Arrival back in the valley will be early evening.  (CB)
