Come with us to Renfro Valley and enjoy the simple pleasures of old time country music.  Return  to a simpler time and the unhurried pace lived by folks years ago as they gathered by the radio and listened to the Saturday Night Barn Dance from Renfro Valley KY!  It’s a world away from the hustle and bustle of today’s fast pace life.   We’ll be refreshed and renewed by this time spent in Kentucky’s Renfro Valley.

Day 1 * Friday * May 25
Welcome aboard!  Sit back and enjoy this weekend retreat in Renfro Valley.  By mid afternoon we arrive at the Heritage Inn, our host for a two night stay.  Tonight sit a spell and enjoy some of our favorite music by Renfro Valley’s talented entertainers at the Tribute to the Legends Show.  

Day 2 * Saturday * May 26
Spend a splendid day here worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life.   This was home of radio broadcaster, John Lair, who created the Renfro Valley Barn Dance in 1939.  Folks have been experiencing the music and simple charm of Kentucky country life right here ever since.  Enjoy  an afternoon and evening of entertainment...everything from the Mountain Gospel Jubilee, bringing back memories of those days sitting around the old piano sharing stories and songs of praise, to the well known Barn Dance.  A great foot stompin’ evening for music lovers as a variety of traditional and contemporary country music, bluegrass, gospel, and an occasional square dance is presented for our entertainment.  The evening is still young as we enjoy the  Front Porch Pickin’ show bringing back memories of those by-gone days.  This has been a day to celebrate country life packed with the ole-time music of yesteryear.  (CB,D)

Day 3 * Sunday * May 27
This morning we depart for White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, to tour the Greenbrier Bunker.  In the mid-50's this was the site of the underground fallout shelter for Congress in event of a national crisis.  For over 30 years this shelter, which is located under a wing of the hotel, was kept in readiness.  Upon completion of our tour, we return to our respective areas.  (CB)
