9 DAYS / 8 NIGHTS
15 MEALS = 8B, 2L, 5D

Day 1 * Thursday * September 13
Washington/Las Vegas
Join us as we begin a journey of a lifetime!  Today we transfer  to Washington, DC,  for our flight to Las Vegas, Nevada.  We’ll have the remainder of the day at leisure for  relaxation, enjoying the neon and laser magic of the Fremont Street Experience, or trying our luck at the gaming tables or slot machines. We’ll spend tonight at the Golden Nugget Casino Hotel.  (D)

Day 2 * Friday * September 14
Pipe Spring Monument/North Rim of Grand Canyon
Heading into Arizona, we visit the old Mormon fort at Pipe Spring National Monument, then continue on to the North Rim of magnificent Grand Canyon National Park. For the next two nights we stay in Grand Canyon National Park.  Our rustic lodging is just a few yards from the rim of the Canyon so we can take full advantage of this natural wonder.  (B,D)

Day 3 * Saturday * September 15
Grand Canyon/Cape Royal/Point Imperial
Our day begins with an excursion to Cape Royal and Point Imperial, offering incomparable views of the Grand Canyon, about one mile deep and ten miles across.  Those who have visited the heavily-traveled South Rim will be surprised to see that the views and environment are distinctively different here.  Our afternoon is free to hike to nearby Bright Angel Point, attend ranger-conducted programs, or simply relax.  (B)

Day 4 * Sunday * September 16
Vermilion Cliffs/Lake Powell Cruise
A scenic drive along Vermilion Cliffs National Monument brings us to the impressive Colorado River Gorge at Navajo Bridge.  Near Page this afternoon, we visit massive Glen Canyon Dam before a “Canyons Adventure” cruise on sky-blue Lake Powell through Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.  Enjoy dinner at the Antelope Point Marina and  overnight accommodations in Page.  (B,D)

Day 5 * Monday * September 17
Monument Valley Jeep Tour
This morning we visit Navajo National Monument to view the Betatakin Ruin.  Later we continue on to incredible Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, where numerous Western movies, television shows and commercials have been filmed.  A traditional Navajo lunch and Navajo-guided, four-wheel drive tour are included in our visit.  En route to Bluff, Utah, we pause at Goosenecks State Park for stunning views of the San Juan River Canyons.    Dinner tonight is at the Cottonwood Steak House.   (B,L,D)

Day 6 * Tuesday * September 18
Natural Bridges/Capitol Reef National Park
After a visit to the Puebloan ruins at Edge of the Cedars State Park, comes sightseeing and a picnic lunch at Natural Bridges National Monument, home to three mighty stone bridges, viewable from convenient overlooks.  An afternoon scenic drive brings us to impressive Capitol Reef National Park, where white sandstone “domes” cap massive reef-like cliffs.  We overnight in Torrey.  (B,L)

Day 7 * Wednesday * September 19
Escalante-Grand Staircase/Bryce Canyon
Our day begins on Utah’s incredible Highway 12 Scenic Byway, winding through spectacular Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument.  Reaching the “Pink Cliffs” of Bryce Canyon National Park, we follow the Rim Drive to view vividly-colored rock forms approximating castles, temples, even whole cities sculptured in stone!  We travel through the slickrock canyons and historic tunnel of Zion National Park for overnight in Springdale.  (B)

Day 8 * Thursday * September 20
Zion National Park
Today features awe-inspiring Zion National Park, where the Virgin River has cut a dramatic rugged gorge through multi-hued sandstone, shale and limestone.  We’ll look up at the towering rock walls surrounding us on all sides as we tour this incredible natural wonder aboard open-air sightseeing trams.  Enjoy time for exploring on our own or shopping in picturesque Springdale.  Tonight’s farewell dinner will be served at our lodge.  (B,D)

Day 9 * Friday * September 21
Las Vegas/Home
We follow the Virgin River into Nevada, back to the glitter of Las Vegas to  board our return flight to Washington.  We’ll be transferred to our respective areas. (B)
